Are we there Yet?

Another completed layout! I actually did 2 again last night! Nothing like an soon-to- arrive baby to make one scrap like crazy!!! This one I used some of my Magpie Club kit and October Afternoon Boarding Pass papers. It's for a challenge over at Challenge Me Happy which required: 1 cardstock, 2 pics, 3 x different alphas, 4 x different patterned papers, 5 x buttons, 6 x staples.
For me the real challenging part was using only 4 patterned papers because I have a tendency to use alot more than 4 papers. The way I got around this was to use the same patterned paper in different ways so it actually looks like there are more than 4 papers. Also I tend to use a journalling tag but here one could not be included and the paper was too dark to write on....so I had to think think think! I then punched a stamp (using a new Fiskars stamp punch) on some lined paper and used that for my journalling. The staples I used on the trail of the airplane which I cut out from the patterned paper to add a bit of interest. I love the Hambly silk printed paper I used for my background! I need to get my hands on more!!!!

Our Home is where you are

Last night I made this layout for a challenge blog called Challenge me Happy. Their design team is really talented and all the examples on there were amazing! The prizes are really good too so worth having a look at their blog. The challenge was to make a layout with the word HOME on the title and having a feel of home throughout.
I then finally opened my Crate Paper collection pack (it was so gorgeous I did not want to open it yet but with all the new Crate Paper collections out I finally got round to opening it!) I also had this picture of the girls which I LOVE but did not know what to do with. I thought it was perfect for the HOME theme
I then die cut some grass and a fence. Stamped a few houses and clouds on an envelope using Maya Road stamps. The corrugated chipboard house and brand is from Jillibean and I went over some detail with a white gel pen. I also added a fabric brad to give it a more "homey" feel. I also painted with the new Pink Paislee mask using a mixture of paint colors. At the top I also added some blue thread to add to the blue cloud sky feel.
I also recently got this wide washi tape with some squirrels and trees which I love!
I really enjoyed this challenge!
