My First Sushi

Since it is the weekend I had a chance to make another layout. This time I made on for Frosted Designs using punches. I had this idea for awhile to make a layout full of little sushis, but never got around to it. Sushi is the favourite food in our family from babies to grown ups. It is one of those foods we can ALL eat together! So I needed to make a layout about my 8 month old having her first sushi
I kept my layout quite simple as I wanted the sushis and pictures to stand out the most. I first punched the black circles and then used a one size down circle punch to create the centre out of patterned paper. I also punched out a border for one of the pictures in a circle shape

Carousel Ride

I am feeling very proud of myself so far this month I have complted 14 layouts! This one I did for a recipie challenge over at Frosted Designs which called for envelopes, tickets and stamps. The prize is really great - packs of Graphic 45 paper! They are one of my fave brands so I jumped at doing this challenge!
Here I used some Kaisercraft paper and embelishments as well as some VERY old stamps I had put away for when I scrapped these pictures. I punched out some small hearts to make the closing of the envelope and then I looked and thought maybe I should punch the stamp shape using the heart negative as a centre. I had never done this before it just came to me because I love using negatives on my pages. I loved how this turned out! The great thing about scrapping is how these little ideas just pop into your head all of a sudden! I loved this challenge and love the fact that my page turned out to be something totally different from what I had first imagined!!!

Granny's Kiss

A layout I made last night for a sketch over at Frosted Designs. It called for some swirls or bling. I am not huge on bling but somehow have managed to build a collection of them...so this was great opportunity to use some of them up. The bling I used was a big one - too big- so I cut it up and layered it as I felt worked best on this LO.
I also had the opportunity to try a few new things I had been meaning to try. I have this Martha Stewart punch which I punched out some borders and then accented them with tiny brands at the centre of the flower border -you can see it in the detailed pictures. I also used an old Crate Paper die cut which I took the centres off and stuck some patterned paper behind it. I then used large foam dots to lift the layers of petals off the page.
Here I used Crate Paper and MME Stella and Ruby
