Busy Feet

I got another spurt of energy last night so although I am now 3 days over my due date I still managed to make 2 layouts last night! This means I have made 20 so far!!!! This one I did for a sketch challenge (# 55) over at Sketches in Thyme. I thought it did not look too difficult which is what I need right now as I am feeling HUUUUGEEEEE!
The technique of making a flower out of twine I have seen somewhere but I never tried it so having just bought some new glue I tried it out here and I love the result! I can see myself now doing this again and again! I filled the heart shape with punched out shapes and buttons.
I used paper and embelishments from BG Hopscotch line, Swiss Dott Bazzill and cardboard clouds from Jillibean.
My daughters had been running around everywhere on this day and they just fell fast asleep on the buggy with their cute feet poking out so I snapped this picture as 2 kids sleeping AT THE SAME TIME is a rare thing indeed!!!

Piecing it all together

So today is my due date but since I am always late I am still scrapping away. I made this one for a sketch challenge over at Sarah's Cards. It is a great sketch calling for a large circle and some stars. I always print out ALL my pictures and organize them by category so that I am ready to go if I feel like scrapping a certain picture. I have been known to get 900 pictures from Photobox which was a real pain to organize!
My daughter loves puzzles and since this sketch called for stars I thought it would be appropriate here. I used papers from Studio Calico and BG Hopscotch line which matched the Sleeping Beauty puzzle she was making. I just got my GLEE CLUB Studio Calico kit which had this adorable camera stamp which I used here. I can see myself using this stamp loads!!! I also used a tag from Elle's Studio which came from my Magpie Kit last mont. What I enjoyed most about doing this layout is at the very end I wanted to use some washi tape but did not know where to put it. I then crumpled and pleated some at the edges of the circle. I have not tried doing this before but because of the circle shape I had to and know I think I am going to be doing this technique loads! I am loving washi tape!!!! I have stamped on it before which I enjoyed as well, but the pleating just added a girly touch which I loved (you can see it in the detailed picture)

Dante's Prayer

I made this layout last night for a challenge over at Once Upon a Sketch. If you have not been there you should as this challenge blog has some fantastic ideas from some very talented designers. The challenge was to follow a sketch AND have a line or two from your favourite song. My favourite song is "Dante's Prayer" sung by Loreena McKennitt. I had this song on repeat for my daughter's birth so it will always be connected to that special time.

In my journalling I included my favourite lines from the song which are:
Cast your eyes on the ocean
Cast your soul to the sea
When the dark night seems endless
Please remember me

I cut out some Basic Grey Hopscotch die cut paper and put it at the bottom adding a few buttons, brads and flowers for dimension., I cut some corrugated cardboard buttlerflies and used the negaitve with some Studio Calico paper at the back. I tried to keep a circular theme throughout as the song reminds me of my birth and birth/ babies feel very circular to me somehow!!! So I used circle punches and dotted swiss Bazzill cardstock. As well as some BG papers with circles in them. The die cut paper at the back is my Little Shoebox
