I am also in the process of going through - what I think are a couple thousand- papers and sorting them out by colour. I am trying this out now and see where it takes me. I always wonder how people organise their papers as its such a difficult thing to organise. I have it organised now by theme (xmas, easter, cooking, Disney, baby, travel, home, fairies/pricess, dinosaurs/ pirates etc...) Its a long list. I keep these in large boxes with all the themed embellishments as well. Then I also organise by collections in the Cropper Hopper Paper Envelopes with all the embellishments too. I also keep my kits that I subscribe that way too. Then whatever was leftover I used to keep in these large 12x12 expandable folders. I kept them there by manufacturer, but that was not working for me as I never used them. So I got 4 12x12 Kaisercraft paper stack storage - they are amazing to put them all in. So every evening I tackle a few papers and slot them in there organising them by colour. It has worked so far as I found these old Crate Papers ones!

Loving Life with you
This fit my style perfectly and I am quite happy with the layout. I have done 12 layouts so far this year and this is my favourite. I chose 4 pictures of my daughter having fun in the 4 different seasons. SO there is a picture of her at Easter, having ice cream in the summer, rolling around in the leaves in the fall and opening crackers in Winter/ Christmas
For the background I sprayed mists in the corresponding colours - so for fall it was an orange/brown, Spring - green, Summer - yellow and Winter - red
I then created little banners at the bottom. On the sides and I include pictures here of the detail I cut little circles and punched out the negative of something to do with that season. So for Spring - a tulip, for Summer a butterfly, for Fall a leaf and for Winter a snowflake
I then code some words to do with that picture/ season as well. So for Spring I chose the word "PASSION" as my daughter loves chocolate! For summer I chose the word "TOGETHER" as the kids are at home a lot so we spend a lot of time together. For Fall I chose the word "ADORE" as one of my daughters favourite things to do is to roll around in the autumn leaves. Then finally for Winter I chose the word "HOME" as we tend to spend a lot of time at home as its usually cold outside. I say usually as this year has been so mild!
Then to tie it all together I used black alphas (which I never use) as I thought black would be great to tie in all the colours. However the little words I used were brown and black so I used a brown journalling spot and black alphas to bring it all together.
I am really happy with this one and will be looking at more challenges over at Punky Scraps
thanks for looking!!!

Keeping the Clan Going

I stumbled across a new challnge blog called Punky Scraps which is based in the UK. Again I liked this blog because the style is very different from mine so I get to try new things and new techniques.
The challenge this time was to use a tartan. When I first took these pictures of me holding a paper saying I was to have a baby boy, after having 2 girls, I did not think I was going to scrap them this way. I was going to probably do the usual baby layout. However, luckily when this challenge came up I thought it would be funny to do a layout with the Campbell (our surname) tartan and how this baby (the first boy in lots of girls) is the one who came to the rescue of the Campbell name - which was on its last legs since there are only girls in the family.
The Campbell tartan is blue, black and green so I weaved some papers and tucked them behind the pictures. I also sprayed some hearts with Glimmer Mist in the Campbell colors. I also added a tag from October Afternoon saying "3" since this is my thrid baby, a Bingo card! and a Big News card.
When I was done I realized I had not thought about journalling!!! Pregnancy brains.... However I thought of writting it within one of the hearts I sprayed - it can be seen on the detail. I quite enjoyed the effect and can see myself doing this again!
