Dante's Prayer

I made this layout last night for a challenge over at Once Upon a Sketch. If you have not been there you should as this challenge blog has some fantastic ideas from some very talented designers. The challenge was to follow a sketch AND have a line or two from your favourite song. My favourite song is "Dante's Prayer" sung by Loreena McKennitt. I had this song on repeat for my daughter's birth so it will always be connected to that special time.

In my journalling I included my favourite lines from the song which are:
Cast your eyes on the ocean
Cast your soul to the sea
When the dark night seems endless
Please remember me

I cut out some Basic Grey Hopscotch die cut paper and put it at the bottom adding a few buttons, brads and flowers for dimension., I cut some corrugated cardboard buttlerflies and used the negaitve with some Studio Calico paper at the back. I tried to keep a circular theme throughout as the song reminds me of my birth and birth/ babies feel very circular to me somehow!!! So I used circle punches and dotted swiss Bazzill cardstock. As well as some BG papers with circles in them. The die cut paper at the back is my Little Shoebox
