Keeping the Clan Going

I stumbled across a new challnge blog called Punky Scraps which is based in the UK. Again I liked this blog because the style is very different from mine so I get to try new things and new techniques.
The challenge this time was to use a tartan. When I first took these pictures of me holding a paper saying I was to have a baby boy, after having 2 girls, I did not think I was going to scrap them this way. I was going to probably do the usual baby layout. However, luckily when this challenge came up I thought it would be funny to do a layout with the Campbell (our surname) tartan and how this baby (the first boy in lots of girls) is the one who came to the rescue of the Campbell name - which was on its last legs since there are only girls in the family.
The Campbell tartan is blue, black and green so I weaved some papers and tucked them behind the pictures. I also sprayed some hearts with Glimmer Mist in the Campbell colors. I also added a tag from October Afternoon saying "3" since this is my thrid baby, a Bingo card! and a Big News card.
When I was done I realized I had not thought about journalling!!! Pregnancy brains.... However I thought of writting it within one of the hearts I sprayed - it can be seen on the detail. I quite enjoyed the effect and can see myself doing this again!
